Nena Barlow

Nena Barlow grew up in the Southwest, exploring the back roads by Jeep, horse, and hiking boots. She has been in the 4wd business since 1992, providing tours, 4wd instruction, location scouting, event planning, trail mapping, public land use education, and off road recovery. She has logged thousands of hours in the backcountry behind the wheel of a Jeeps, Ram Trucks, Hummers, Unimogs, Fords, Toyotas, Nissans, and many more.

She started Barlow Adventures in 2004 to provide training, guide service and Jeep rentals in Sedona AZ, Moab UT, and a variety of locations throughout the Southwestern US, including Glamis and the Rubicon Trail. She has trained and guided many automotive manufacturers, media and people from all over the world. She contributed tens of thousands of words of articles to various publications, including JP Magazine and Four Wheeler.

Nena is a certified Master Trainer with the International 4wd Trainer Association. She frequently competes in the Rebelle Rally, having brought home two overall wins and four bone stock wins. Recently she has been nominated to the Offroad Motorsports Hall of Fame and the Chicago Auto Show “What Drives Her” Award, and received the Legacy Award from Tread Lightly!

Nena currently sits on the Board of Directors of Tread Lightly! She is also a founding member of Red Rock OHV Conservation Coaltion (RROCC), an informal organization of tour companies, rental companies, the USFS and Tread Lightly! created to address the conflicts between motorized trails users and communities in the Sedona area. Responsible recreation is an integral part of her passion for teaching.

She has two sons, and lives at home in Clarkdale, Arizona, with her husband, Dave, and their two dogs.
