Today’s agenda was loaded with border crossings so we packed up camp and started out pretty early to get a good jump on the day. This weekend is a national holiday with most Central American countries having Thursday and Friday off so the roads are complete chaos and overcrowded with people.  Kurt brought us through the madness, but we also had help from a local to speed up the border crossing process.  For a small price, there are locals who work the border helping travelers through the craziness.  With the extra help, we barely made it through before lunch time which is when everything slows down dramatically.  We then pushed it hard and made it to the second Honduran border. It did not go as smoothly as the we wanted, but we made it through and pushed to Matagalpa in Nicaragua for the night.
