Since we pushed hard last night to camp close the border, we had time in the morning to go through a “teaching clinic.” We asked the Team 5 guys if they could teach us some tricks of their trade and some essentials to know for the remainder of the trip. We understand the dangers that come with traveling through some of these countries with high profile vehicle like these, so it is best to be prepared for any scenario.

Team 5 put together quick basic lessons for us. Keith went into the crucial ABC’s of medical assessment of victims in accidents. Griff illustrated what to do if the driver for some reason goes down or loses consciousness. Eric talked us through kidnapping situations and when and how to get out of them. He showed us how to break out of all sorts of hand bindings and captures. We took our new skills and began our day of driving and border crossings into El Salvador.
