We woke up early to get a good start on another drive day. Guatalajara is a huge city and we made it a priority to stay together in convoy as we passed through. Once out of the city, we travelled through so many beautiful landscapes! Not the stereotypical Mexican desert scenes you see in the movies, but huge beautiful mountains. The view from the highway was stunning. We made a quick stop to get gas when we stopped to talk to the gas station employee. He said that one of the visible peaks from where we were was 18,700 feet! That officially changed our perception of Mexican landscapes. We arrived in Puebla this evening only to have an amazing Brazilian dinner (which has nothing to do with Mexico, but it was cheap and meaty) and started to finalize our route into the Yucatan.
