What is the Overlander Film Fest?

When is the film submission period?

August 1 – 31, 2020

How long should my film be?

The Overlander Film Fest Categories include:

Short-Form: Anything under 5 minutes;
Long-Form: Between 5 and 12 minutes; and
Junior: Open to anyone under 17 years of age, and under 5 minutes.

How do I submit my film?

Head over to Film Freeway to enter.

Submission Requirements

Required file size/format: Mp4 MOV H264 file format required (1920x1080p, 23.98/24 frames per second). Filming can be completed at any frame rate but must be delivered at 24 frames per second.
Film must be complete. Unfinished, unedited films will automatically be disqualified.
Sound balanced.
General color correction and balance or grading
Short description of film (150 words or less)
Length: Short Form (3:00 – 5:00 minutes), Long Form (5:01 – 12:00 minutes)
No profanity; MUST be family-friendly content
1 SUBMISSION PER CATEGORY
Assembled this year – could have been filmed at any time
No overt advertisements, promotions, plugs or commercial advertising or social channels, and no political agenda
Has to be exclusive, can’t be released anywhere else until after the notification date. If selected, exclusivity extends to October 21, 2020.

Can I also share my video on my YouTube channel?

The film that you submit must be exclusive to the Overlander Film Fest and can’t be released elsewhere until October 19, 2020. This is standard practice for international film festivals.

How are the films judged?

For us, it’s simple. The best story wins.

Will there be awards?

Yes! They will be announced in the coming weeks and we promise you the Grand Prize is epic.

Will anyone be able to attend the Film Fest?

Yes! Tickets are available so anyone can watch online all over the world!
